01-07-2012: Gray Whales Continue Southbound Migration, Excellent Looks at Feeding Common Dolphins

The gray whales continue to be a sure thing as they make their way from the arctic waters down to their calving and breeding grounds in the warm water lagoons of Baja California. The real show today was a pod of about 150 long-beaked common dolphins. They swarmed around the boat continually leaping out of the water as they fed.

Here’s some incredible video footage from a trip in November. It’s one of the best encounters we’ve had.
